As we get back into the swing of things, I’ve been traveling increasingly, and the number of items I need to charge is insane. While this charger is not necessarily new, I’ve been using the limited edition cherry blossom version, and I find it still useful for traveling and even in small spaces.
mophie 3-in-1 Travel Charger Design and Build
If you’re into the entire Apple ecosystem, this 3-in-1 travel charger makes sense.
It has a 30W wall adaptor and a short usb-c to usb-c cable. I do wish the cable was just a tad longer (and pink) because not all hotel room outlets are reachable, and some don’t have enough outlets to begin with
The mophie 3-in-1 charger folds into 3 layer cube. When it unfolds, it’s a long, skinny rectangle with three compartments. The QI charging pad all the way on the left charges the AirPods or any true wireless earbuds that have a wireless charging case, the middle MagSafe charger charges the phone, and the charger all the way to the right has the Apple Watch charger puck that folds upward to charge and lays back down flat to pack. The charging stations are pink and made of dark grey microsuede fabric.
It comes in a cute little zippered carrying case. The original 3-in-1 charger has a gray travel case. This one is a pink zippered case with dividers to organize the charger and the cable. The outside of the case is decorated with cherry blossoms. As a girly girl who loves pink accessories, I can’t say I wasn’t in love with this. It’s rare to get high-end accessories in pink.
Use and Experience
You plug the USB-C cable in the back of the compartment on the right that has the Apple Watch charging cradle. The charger does not have light indicators, so you must either listen for the charging sound, look for the indicator, or both.
As expected, with wireless chargers, it won’t charge too quickly, but you can get up to 15W on the MagSafe compartment (the one in the middle).
At $149, the price may deter some, but it’s the mophie price tag for quality. The products haven’t failed me yet, so I trust them. Since the cherry blossom edition of the 3-in-1 charger is limited, it may be hard to find. You can still buy the regular version of the 3-in-1 charger with the grey travel case on the mophie website or Apple Store.
